

Born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia on October 20th, 1931, he was the son of the late Jack and Janet (Maxwell) Gilbert.
After completing high school in Parrsboro, NS he joined the Military Police and was stationed in western Canada for several years. After returning to Nova Scotia he settled in Halifax working as a salesman at Halifax Chrysler Dodge. Scott’s first words were “car-car” and he found his passion working in the field of automotive sales.
Years later he joined NS Tractor and Equipment travelling the Maritimes. Scott finished out his career as Administrative Security Officer of the Provincial Supreme Courts and Chief Deputy Sheriff of Field Operations.
Scott and his family loved to travel with their trailer and frequently could be found at Sherwood Forest Camp Ground and East LaHave. In retirement Scott and Margie travelled south to Myrtle Beach and Florida where they made many lifelong friends.
Survived by his wife of 63 years Margaret (Power) Gilbert; children Andrew Gilbert, Edmonton, AB; Beth Spratt, Bedford, NS; Stephen Gilbert, Halifax, NS and Kent (Anne) Gilbert, Lakeside, NS; grandchildren Shannon Spratt; Jessica (Matt) Langdon; Alex Gilbert; Dylan Gilbert; Tessa Thomas; Lauren (Cody) Maillet; Cory Spratt; Maddilynn Gilbert; Maxwell Gilbert and Thomas Gilbert; great-grandchildren Violet, Nicholas, Blake, Anna, Claire and Sloane and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Dorothy, Maxwell, Reginald and Donald.
There will be no service at this time. A family celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of JA Snow Funeral Home.
