Anna Fabrizi

She was born April 9th 1945, in Pratola Peligna, Italy and later moved to Halifax, NS in 1965 to start a better life with her beloved husband, Guido. Here she established herself as a homemaker and seamstress.

She had three children; Maria, Rocco, and Lisa whom she loved dearly. Anna put her family first and showed her love for her family by making food. Her passion for cooking was admirable. You could always find her in the kitchen making something from scratch, either a good sauce using tomatoes grown from Guido’s garden with homemade pasta, breaded chicken, or a soup filled with fresh vegetables just to name a few of her staples. If she gave you the recipe to make it yourself it never tasted the same as the reason her cooking tasted so good was clearly from the love she poured into it. You knew if you were visiting you were not going to leave her house hungry and you were likely leaving with a bag of her delicious pizzelles in hand.

Anna spent 25 years working for Tip Top Tailors as a seamstress where she took pride in her work and always made sure her customers left looking their best.

Anna was also a loving Nonna to her six grandchildren. She attended every birthday, graduation, and sporting event. While she was there she was fondly known as ‘their Nonna’ as she boasted about how proud she was of her grandkids.

Anna is survived by her husband of 58 years Guido, brother Venanzio (Nunziata) and Ezio (Bruna). She will be greatly missed by her 3 children Maria, Rocco (Peggy), and Lisa (Richard), her 6 grandchildren Angela (Alex), Anthony (Samantha), Jessica (Allan), Alexa, Richard, and Brandon and her 1 great-grandchild Maeve. She was predeceased by her sister Lucia and brother Enio. Anna was the best grandmother, mother-in-law and mother in the world.

Visitation will be at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive on Thursday October 8th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service at Saint Benedict Church Friday October 9th at 11am followed by a burial service.
