

Rainey, Anne Marie (nee Sullivan) - 94, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012, in Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home, Windsor Street, Halifax. Born May 4, 1918, she was the fourth youngest of the late John Joseph and Monica Sullivan of St. John’s, Newfoundland. She was predeceased (by many years) by her husband, Andre, brothers, Jim, Albert, Jack, Dan, and sisters Ellen, Madeline, and Kathleen. Leaving to morn her daughters Walli (Walta-Anne) Rainey of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Cherye Edgar (Jim) of Ottawa, Ontario, Sandi Stapleton (Peter) of Windsor, Ontario, MarieAnne Boulain (Robbie) of Bristol’s Hope, Newfoundland and son, Frank Stapleton of Fredericton, New Brunswick, 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson, many nieces and nephews, a large family whom she spoke of often and was so proud of.
Anne Marie was an active member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica as a choir member, reader and Eucharistic Minister.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept 7th at 10:00am in the Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home Chapel. An additional service will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church, St. John’s, Newfoundland and internment will occur at Holy Seplecur, Topsail Road, St. John’s. Newfoundland at a later date.
