

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our precious mother, Audrey Clare (Coolen), Halifax on January 15. Besides her parents, Leah & Patrick Coolen of Halifax, Audrey was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim in 1993. She leaves to mourn her children, Nancy Hardiman, Halifax; Catherine (Colin Cooper), Bridgewater; Heather (Darren Levy), Halifax; James (Gwen), Halifax; and Mary Therese (Wade Smith), Dartmouth. Grandchildren, Douglas & Leah Inman; Robert, Craig & Lindsay Cooper; Brent Smith and Lauren & Emily Smith. Great-grandchildren Olivia, Melanya, Luka, Cole, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Zane, Quinn and Jack.
Audrey is also survived by her sister, Joyce Coolen of Halifax and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Gerald Coolen.
Audrey was a life long member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League. Audrey enjoyed and was dedicated to the Altar Society, Bowling League, Seniors’ Luncheons and in the earlier years the St. Theresa’s Players.
Mom was a vibrant personality who enjoyed many special times with her children and grandchildren – all of whom are left with these special memories to remember her by. The first on the dance floor and the last to leave, mom is now dancing in the arms of her true love, Jim.
Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax , January 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a celebration of life at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, North Street, Halifax on January 19t at 11:00am.. Reception to follow in the church hall.
