Berthana Dominie

Berthana passed away on January 27, 2014. It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of this devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. At the time of her death, mom was surrounded by her loving and extended family. She was born on November 23, 1916, in Gaultois, NL to Minnie (Baldwin) and Isaac Hunt. She is survived by her devoted sons, Earl (Stephanie), Albert (Carolyn), Calvin (Jane); son-in-law, Pat Dunphy (recently deceased daughter, Martha). She was a very special Nan to Marcelle, Mark, Michael, Patricia, Angela, and Chad. A loving great-grandmother to Gillian, Dominique, Cheyenne, Dante, Luc, Cassidy, Taylor, Mackenzie, Noah, Rowan, Mason, Alex (deceased), and Logan (deceased); sisters, Ethel (Lanzano) and Phyllis (Harris). She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Harold; infant son, Albert; daughter, Martha; brothers, Ward, Charlie, Max; sisters, Monnie and Eileen. She spent her lifetime caring for her home and the needs of her family and those placed in her care. She rejoiced in the successes and accomplishments of all those she touched. Our special thanks go out to Northwood Care Centre and specifically the caring and loving staff on the 7th floor to whom we entrusted out special person this last year. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NS http://www.alzheimer.ca/en/ns or charity of choice. Visitation will be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services to be held at St, Margaret’s of Scotland Anglican Church, 3751 Robie Street, Halifax on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
