

Olsen, Bryan, 71 of Bedford passed away April 17, 2015 in Parkstone Enhanced Care. Bryan was a son of the late Wilma “Pet” and Keith Olsen. He is survived by his wife Cathy, his daughter Kelly(David)Cowan and their children Nirah, Teah and Lena; his son Trent(Christy)Olsen and their children Ava, Georgia and James; his brother Brent(Janice)Olsen, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anne and Robert Boutlier, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise. For years Bryan serviced the cars of many loyal customers at his Texaco and later Ultramar garage in Bedford. He was a car salesman at Kingston Auto and finished his career driving cars at Adessa. Bryan was renowned for hls love of cars and how fast they would go. He also loved speed on the water. He had great times with his catamaran on Lake Fletcher and his sailboat, Scotiaplan, with his sailing buddies at the BBYC. His love of water also led him to have a summer cottage in Portipique where he enjoyed the amazing tides, beautiful sunsets and his supportive neighbours. After Bryan’s diagnosis, he enjoyed interaction with new friends at Change of Mind(YMCA), The Breakaway Program and the Day Program, Ivany Place, Bedford. To the nurses and support staff at the hospitals and Parkstone, who treated Bryan in a caring, compassionate manner, thank you. We deeply appreciated the prayers and visits from the congregations of the Wellington United Church and Bedford Baptist Church. We would like to thank Linda Bird, Alzheimer Society, for her empathy and guidance during many difficult times. Also, to Fay Louch, who gave so genersously of her time. Lastly, we want to thank our families and friends who were there for us with their time, love and support. You truly made this very difficult journey for Bryan and his family a little easier.
Arrangements have been entrusted to JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 2 at 2pm in Bedford Baptist Church. Donations in memory of Bryan may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
