Newbury, Carol M., (LaPierre) age 79 of Timberlea, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones on December 27, 2016. It is with heartfelt sorrow that we the family announce the passing of our beloved family member. Carol passed of natural causes while mourning the recent loss of her husband, Bill.
Born in Fairview to the late Robert and Cecilia LaPierre, Carol was a stay at home mom. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing cards, handcrafts, watching figure skating, recreational bowling, and volunteering in the community. Carol was deeply involved in the Girl Guides of Canada, holding many respected positions over the years. In the prime of her life, an automobile accident left her partially disabled. She also fought several battles with cancer but still pushed herself to do household activities, gardening and enjoying her grandchildren grow up.
Carol leaves behind her daughters, Lillian, Halifax, and Cheryl (Pat Walsh) Timberlea. She was a devoted grandmother to Samantha (Loren) Little, Terence Bay, Justin, Myles and Matt, all of Timberlea and Brittany of Clayton Park. She will especially missed by her great-granddaughter, Gabriella – “Nan Nan’s little doll” who added much pleasure to her life and her first “great-grandchild” Doozer.
Carol is survived by her sisters, Lynn (Darrold) Crossman of Sackville, Eva Rafters, Roberta Myra, and brother, Bill LaPierre (Carol) all of Fairview. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert LaPierre and her loving husband, William “Bill” whom succumbed to cancer.
At her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
