

MILBURY, Charles Seymour – 64, passed away January 1, 2013, surrounded by family. Born in Amherst, N.S., he was the eldest son of Betty Orr (Thompson) and the late Preston Milbury. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverley, daughters Marlene Perry (Jamie) and Tammy, granddaughters, the lights of his life, Abigail and Alyssa. Sister Marlene Major (Dave Short), Upper Sackville, brothers Earl (Joann), Ottawa, and Tom, Lower Sackville, Step father Allan Orr, Upper Sackville, several nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Patti O’Neill. Charlie enjoyed his 37 years of employment with the Royal Bank and lived in many places before retiring in 2003, in Halifax. He joined in supporting his community wherever he was living, working in organizations such as Kinsmen Club of Sackville and New Glasgow, Rotary Clubs across the country and served on many boards. He made many cherished friends over time and place. During his retirement he had fun organizing Ryder Cups, men’s leagues and charity golf tournaments at his winter residence in Zephyrhills, FL. He thoroughly enjoyed getting together with family and friends. Golfing was his favorite activity. He will be missed in so many ways but made the world a better place while he was here. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4th, from 7-9pm, from where a service will take place Saturday, January 5th at 11:00am all at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS.
