Colin was the fifth of six children born to the late Sydney and Annie (MacLean) Carter in Oxford, Nova Scotia on June 17, 1929.
Colin was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Bonnie (Palmer) and by his sisters Pat, Marie, and brother Don. He is survived by his son Greg (Linda), daughter Cheryl Thompson (Craig), and was the proud and loving grandpa of Carly MacDonald (Logan), and Kris Reed. Colin is also survived by his remaining siblings brother Dale and sister Margaret McNaughton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dad began working at Superline Oil in Halifax in 1954 before moving to Montreal with Petrofina, and continued his career in Halifax and Toronto with Petrofina/Suncor Inc. Colin and Bonnie remained in Toronto for 28 years before returning to their beloved Nova Scotia in 2008.
Dad and Mom spent their post retirement years travelling the world, but were happiest outside under the sun, taking daily walks, and taking great pride in maintaining the flower gardens and property at their home.
