

BUDGE, Daniel Gilbert – 74, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away October 10, 2011 at home. Born in Maniwaki, P.Q., he was the son of the late Marguerite and Lloyd Budge. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1954 and served for 25 years. He retired in 1979. He worked at Sears for 17 years and retired in 2002. He enjoyed traveling, spending time at his cottage in French Cove and he was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the HMCS Sackville, RCNA Mess and ACPO Association where he enjoyed socializing with his many navy buddies. He was a true navy man until the day he died. He will be missed greatly by his darling wife Sheila, extended family and many friends. Survived by his wife Sheila; sisters Irene and Violet; brothers Steve, Edgar, Joseph, Ervin (Corey), Gerry (Irma); many nieces and nephews and special godchild Maggie O’Brien.
Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by sisters Theresa and Eleanor and brothers Kenneth, Albert and Russell.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Friday, October 14th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Saint Benedict Church, 45 Radcliffe Dr., Halifax on Saturday, October 15th at 12 noon, Fr. James Mallon officiating. Reception following. Burial at sea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
