Daren Thomas Moulstone, age 55, of Upper Tantallon, NS, passed away November 2nd, at the Victoria General Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England, on March 28th, 1964, and was the son of Leonard and the late Pauline (Lane) Moulstone.
At the age of 15 he left school and started an apprenticeship as a Telephone Engineer with British Telecom. In 1991, while visiting his relatives in Halifax, he met his future wife Lynn. After a two year long distance relationship he moved to Halifax in February 1993. They were married in 1994. Daren is survived by his wife, Lynn (Avery) of 25 years and their three children, Emily (Halifax), Megan (Halifax), and Christopher (Upper Tantallon). He is also survived by his father, Leonard Moulstone; sister, Lynn (Robert) Moran; niece, Kendal Moran, and nephew, Dane Moran, all of England, as well as several nieces and nephews in Canada.
Daren was employed with Data Wiring Solutions where he last worked as an Estimator but held many other roles over the last 14 years. Daren was best known for his dry, witty sense of humour. He thoroughly enjoyed spending his summers camping with a wide circle of family and friends. He loved watching and playing football (soccer) and cheering for his home team the Queens Park Rangers. Daren also enjoyed watching and supporting his children’s sports teams and activities.. Daren loved the outdoors and took pride in tending to his garden, a passion passed on from his Mom and Dad and their beautiful English gardens.
He loved his family dearly and fought this battle so fiercely, living every moment to the fullest till the very end. We would like to thank so many family and friends for their tremendous support over the last two years. Special thank you to all the medical staff and support teams at the QEII Health Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov 9th, from 4-7 pm with remarks beginning at 6:00 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society “The Lodge” or charity of choice.
