

Born in Halifax, he was the son of Joan (Barrett) and the late William E Giles.
David was a paramedic for 25 years with EHS. He excelled at his job and was well respected by his co-workers. He was a kind and compassionate person who mentored many upcoming paramedics. He was known for delivering several babies in the ambulance, including two on the Halifax-Dartmouth bridges.
David enjoyed working out, doing martial arts, going on long walks, cooking and watching his beloved Raptors. He enjoyed other sports as well and was a huge Tupac fan.
David is survived by his partner Jenn, her daughter Katie and their dog Bella.
He is also survived by his mother Joan, sister Helen, brother Bill, his wife Carol, nephew Matthew Giles (Angela Campbell) and their daughter Kingslee, niece Kayla Giles (Brady Meade), several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many, many special friends.
In addition to his father, David was predeceased by his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 28 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at J A Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 29 at 3:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church of the Apostles, Bayers Road, Reverend Mark Marshall officiating. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. Burial will follow in St John’’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. We know David would be happy with a donation to a charity that helps the less fortunate.
