David left us at a much too young age of 29 on April 12, 2015. David was a young man who loved his family and friends greatly. His sense of humour was so often coupled with that special twinkle in his eye as he would often gently tease many of us at the special celebrations with family and friends that took place at every opportunity. He took pleasure in always being the prankster. His life was his family and friends. David enjoyed many good times at Ragged Lake, playing hockey, golf, Texas hold-em, beer pong and participating in the yearly NFL Fantasy Football League (champion 2 years in a row). We will deeply miss him but never forget his many acts of kindness and love.
David’s passion in life was being a firefighter and helping people. He was a past member of the Harrietsfield –Sambro Volunteer Fire Department and an Ironworker at the Halifax Shipyard.
David leaves behind his parents, Donny and Mandy, his sister Kady (Douglas), brother Brandon (Marieke), girlfriend Lisa, grandparents, Goldie and Sherman Hart, Sambro, William and Joan Tough, West Pennant, his aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends (especially Algee and Munden) and his loyal dog, Rambo.
Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of David’s life at St. James United Church in Sambro on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00. A reception in the church hall will follow. A private family burial will take place at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations in David’s memory may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia or St. James United Church in Sambro.
