It is with broken hearts that we, the family of Dolores Minnie Estella Singer, announce her sudden passing on April 23, 2022 after a very brief but fierce battle with cancer in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As per her wishes, she remained in her home of 46 years until the very end, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Singer, her parents Lionel and Norah Spears, her brothers Jerry and Evan, her sister Inez and her son Dougie.
Dolores was born on April 4, 1942 in Watt Section and lived in the Sheet Harbour area. Everyone who knew her acknowledges that Dolores was the focal point of her family and extended family and like a mother to all. She was the glue that kept everyone together. She was selfless, giving, had the biggest and most generous heart, was the best listener and always took the time to chat. She loved her garden, especially her cucumbers and tomatoes. She loved her scratch tickets and her Barefoot Bubbly.
She is survived by her children Frederick (Joanne), Bruce (Allie), Dwayne (Nadine), Tamara (Charlie) Ballard, Darren (Diane), Shelley (Stephen) and Christopher (Chantal), sister Nancy (Dave) Wheaton, sister in law Lorraine Spears, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Many thanks to and appreciation to great niece Dr. Kimberly Styles and the Palliative Care team at the QEII. Donations can be made be to Diabetes Canada.
