Doris Louise Pope

Born in Dartmouth on February 5, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Vincent James Nelson and Ella Louise Street.

Doris worked as a Compensation and Benefits Expert throughout a lengthy public service career. Doris retired at 55. She had a passion for gardening and had a real green thumb! When her children were small she was a hockey mom, Girl Guide Leader and Commissioner, and a Sunday School Teacher.

Doris is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Pope of 63 years. He was the love of her life; daughters, Debbie Matthews (Don), Lynn Lecreux (Alex) and Cindy Jardine (Larry) and daughter-in-law, Charlene; sisters, Margaret Hachey, Bonnie Sears, Betty-Ann Carpenter and Eva Street; brother, Ross Street; 10 grand children; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was pre-deceased by her Mother, Father, Step father (William Street); son, Frederick Pope and brother James.

Visitation will be held Wed May 8th from 2-4 and 6-8pm and a funeral service will be held Thursday May 9th at 5pm all to take place in J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive
