Doris Joan Ringer

Ringer, Doris Joan, age 49, of Lower Sackville, NS passed away August 8th surrounded by cherished family and friends. Doris felt a woman is not defined by her career in business, her travels, or the books she read. Doris was better defined by her love for her family and her close friends. She was a woman of integrity and honour who was respected by everyone she met. She had a spunk for life and was a true fighter until the end, never giving up hope. She is survived by her husband and soulmate Jeff Ringer and her precious daughter Alison (Robbie), her brothers and sisters Larry (Karen), Paulette (Dave), Gerard (Sheri), Michele (Brian), Michael (Martha), Mary, Eve, Tracy (Owen). Doris is also survived by her best friend since they were just seven, Tania Macintosh, who Doris felt was another sister. Her dear friend Breena Stuthard who she has known for over 30 years was a constant friend. Finally, too many nieces and nephews whom she treated as if they were her own children. She will be missed by her fur babies Charlie and Rosie.

She was preceded in passing by her mother Margaret, father Robert, Aunt Jeanie, and her brother Tom.

Doris loved to travel with her husband and she and her family went to many places. Doris especially loved NY and Boston. She loved being a mother to the most precious daughter in the world. She also loved shoes and purses and she was nicknamed “Vanna” by her sisters which they loved calling her because of her love of fashion and her gorgeous lips. She will be in Heaven sporting her purses and shoes waiting for her husband. As she always said “it’s all about the bling”.

Visitation will be held at J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Sunday August 15th between 1 and 4pm. The funeral will be held at J A Snow Funeral Home on Tuesday August 17th at 2pm. Due to Covid 19 restrictions the service will be by invitation only. Please join the family through the livestream that will be available on the funeral home website.
