Dorothy Lorraine Herring (Fillis), age 79 was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She passed away peacefully at Northwood Manor, Halifax, on November 19, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Leo and Stella Fillis. Dorothy was predeceased by brothers, Borden, John and Wilburn Fillis; sisters, Delores Fraser, Juanita and Elizabeth Fillis; and son, James Brightman. She leaves behind four sons and three daughters, Ernest D.L. Herring, Lynn Herring, Duke Herring, Stella Herring, Dorothy Herring, Shawn Brightman, and Noah Davenport; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. A Funeral Service will be Monday, November 27, 2017 in Saint Catherine of Siena Church at 11am, 6476 Bayers Road, with a reception to follow.
