

Born in Halifax, she was the youngest daughter of the late Walter and Elsie (Antle) Peart.
She was a long time employee of Eastern Trust. She was a member of the St. John’s United Church and for many years sang in the choir. At the age of 6, Dorothy studied the violin under Miss L. Dorothea Webb. She was a member of the Halifax Baby Orchestra comprised of children from 4-8 years of age and under the direction of Miss Webb. Her love of music and dancing brought her great joy throughout her life as did her dogs and cats.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Grant; sister, Geraldine (George C. Piercey) and niece, Heather MacMullin (MacFadden).
She is survived by her sister, Marian (Charles R. MacFadden), a niece and several nephews who loved her dearly.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (455-0531) and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, 6th floor for their care of Dorothy over the past 4 years and the medical team at the QEII, 7.4, for their compassion and support shown to Dorothy and her family during the past three weeks.
