

September 4th, 2011 with her family at her side at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax, N.S. she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Beatrice (Mitchell) Farmer. She worked at Sears, served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, M.T.&T.(operator), Fairbank Mores, homemaker, Simpson’s, lunch monitor at J. L. Isley High School (students called her Mom). She was in C.G.I.T., Sunday school teacher, campaigner Heart & Stroke Foundation, B.C. Silver School Community Counsel, enjoyed volleyball, swimming competitions, softball and hockey, main sport was bowling. She loved music singing and dancing, traveling to visit family and with the Police Pipe Band. Organizations: Halifax Police Assoc., Ladies Auxiliary, RCAF Assoc. 101 and 111 Wings. Worked on conventions committee for RCAF Assoc., National and Group, participated in N.S. Tattoo. Edna spent many happy days at the family cottage in New Ross where she made life long friends in that area. She is survived by her husband of 49 years John R. Bowser (retired Sgt. Halifax Police) sons Glenn (Colleen) Oakville ON, Stephen (Elizabeth Smith) Halifax, Suzanne (Gerry Belgraver) Pickering ON; Grandchildren: Kaleigh, Mitchell, Shawn, Emma, Ilse, Max, Torsten, step-grandchildren Michael and Alex; Sister-in-law Janis Bowser, Brother-in-law Michael Bowser, Sister-in-law Harue Farmer, and many nephews and nieces especially Brian, Darlene, Heather, also special friends Joan Weaver and Phyllis Price. She is the last surviving member of her family. Predeceased by Brother Earl, Sisters Jean and Carol. Visitation will be held Thurs. Sept 15th at J. A. Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Fri. Sept . 16th at 10:30 AM at Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Dr.,(corner of Radcliffe & Dunbrack St.)Halifax, Father Lloyd O’Neill officiating. Burial at the Last Post Fund Veterans Columbarium Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
