

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Elias (Leo) Isaac Saba who died peacefully on June 6th 2017 at the QEII Hospital surrounded by loving wife, children, and family. Leo was born May 16th, 1958 in Gebrayel, Lebanon, the village he met his wife Rita.
They immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1976, where they began working together side-by-side in various businesses including TJ’s Convenience, Leonardo’s Pizza, Leo’s Convenience Store, Milsy’s Café, & Med Café. Leo was a man that everyone loved to be around. His charming personality captured everyone’s heart. Leo strongly believed in honesty, loyalty and respect. To his children, he was more than a father, he was a friend. Leo’s greatest joys were spending time with this family and friends, and his door was always open.
He was a very active man who enjoyed working out at Goodlife and long walks on the Bedford Waterfront. Throughout Leo’s life, he established friendships effortlessly. Wherever he went, everybody knew Leo, and everybody loved Leo.
Leo is predeceased by his parents Isaac and Marwa Saba, sister Marie Wehbe, nephew Milad Sande and niece Maha Faraj.
He is survived by his wife Rita, daughter Marwa Mohsen (Beshara) and granddaughters Giuliana and Ciara, daughter Nancy, son Isaac (Lisa) and granddaughter Sofia, and daughter Sabah; sisters Laurice (Adib Faraj), Sabah (Salum Solomon), Laura (Charlie Chediac), Leila Sande, Joumana (Abraham Chater). The many children of his nieces and nephews will miss him dearly as well.
The family would also like to thank the staff in unit 7A VG Site, QEII for all of their love, support, and care. You helped the family immensely throughout this tough battle. The funeral home visitation will be on Thursday June 8th, at 2-4pm as well as 7-9pm at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home on 2666 Windsor St, Halifax, NS. The funeral mass will be on Friday June 9th at 11am at St. Antonios Orthodox Church, located at 2480 Windsor St, Halifax, Nova Scotia, with Father Maximos officiating. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery, Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Antonios Orthodox Church, Halifax.
