

It is with heavy hearts the family of Betty Jane (BJ) Stockall announce her passing on March 4, 2019 at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS. BJ was born in Halifax and was the daughter of the late Mildred and Bernard Bignell and granddaughter of Francis and Catherine McNeil.
She taught with the Halifax Regional School Board and eventually retired after serving as Board Secretary to the Elected School Board Members.
Betty Jane is survived by son, Paul; grandchildren, Josie (baby Wyatt); Katie; their mother, Nadine Jackson and son, Matthew and grandson, Bryan.
She was predeceased by her first husband, David Beazley and her late husband, Allen Stockall.
She will be dearly missed by her sister, Diane Bignell Hartlen, Ottawa; Aunt Patricia Mackenzie, Halifax and cousins, Deborah and Blair Lounsbury, Saint John as well as life-long friends, Barb Gore, Donna Young and Doreen Bower, Halifax.
Betty Jane will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her love of family and close friends. She was a kind, caring, gentle and generous person by all who knew her. She was the Queen of shopping and devoted every weekend to family shopping excursions.
The family extends a special thank you to the wonderful team of doctors, nurses and staff at Parkstone Enhanced Care for the past several years for the love and compassionate care given to Betty Jane.
For those who wish, memorial donations in Betty Jane’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. A Celebration of BJ’s Life will be held at a later date.
