It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Alfred Jenkins on November 27, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 13, 1949, Eric was a beloved husband, father, papa, uncle, and friend to many. Predeceased by the love of his life, Paulette, he is remembered with deep love and admiration by his children Keri (Aaron), and Adam (Mary), and grandchildren Owen, Josh, Madison, and Audrey, many brothers, sisters, family members, and all who knew him.
Eric dedicated more than 40 years of his career to the Department of National Defence at the dockyard and Willow Park, where he made lasting contributions and lifelong friendships and received the QEII Royal Jubilee medal for his long service before retiring in 2008. He was passionate about sports, often sharing his love, and constructive tips, for the game with his family and friends. In his younger years, he was an avid goalie and baseball player, and loved old music and movies. His greatest pride was his children and grandchildren, whose achievements and happiness brought him tremendous joy.
Visitation will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Thursday, December 5, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, at 10 a.m., followed by internment at Oakridge Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held at Freeman’s in Fairview, starting at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
"Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you, until we meet again."
