Frances Marie West

WEST, Frances Marie - age 90, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Aylesford, she was the daughter of the late Greatorex and Violet (Walker) Anderson. She attended Mack Business College and worked in Halifax in her younger years. She worked as a receptionist at Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church in Auburn and was a 70-Year Member of Mayflower Chapter #2 Order of the Eastern Star. Frances is survived by her daughter, Janet (Drew) Sullivan; grandchildren, Ryan and Katie; sister, Lillian and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Eugene; sisters, Marion and infant sister, Doris Kathleen; brothers, Wilfred, Ronald, Avard and George. Frances had a great love for food and was an excellent cook; she loved to shop and was known for her style and funky glasses. She laughed a lot and loved a good practical joke, was always singing and loved to play the piano. She spent many summers with Gene in Morden on the Bay of Fundy. Her grandchildren, Ryan and Katie, were very dear to her and there will always be a special place in their hearts for her. Her great character and sense of humour will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 2-4 pm and Celebration of Frances’ Life Service will take place on Monday, May 7, 2018, at 10:00 am both at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Following the Celebration of Life Service an Eastern Star Service, Burial Service and Gathering will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn, NS at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or Mountain Lea Lodge. Special thanks to the caring staff at Mountain Lea Lodge.
