Frank was the beloved son of the late Glen and Maud Marshall, who predeceased him. As a young man, he made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus Christ — a decision that shaped the course of his entire life. His faith was not simply something he spoke about; it was the steady foundation on which he built his marriage, raised his children, served others, and faced both joys and hardships. Christ was his anchor, his strength, and his hope.
For more than 45 years, Frank was a faithful and devoted member of Rock Church in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. His church family meant so much to him. He worshiped wholeheartedly, served willingly, and lived out his faith quietly but consistently. Frank not only attended faithfully, but he also served diligently and helped build the house of God — Rock Church — through his involvement in its ministries, investing his time, skills, and heart into its growth and outreach. His presence was steady, his prayers sincere, and his desire was always that others would come to know the Lord as personally as he did.
Frank shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rosalind Marshall (née Fizzard). Their love story was one of faithfulness, partnership, and deep devotion. Through every season of life, they stood side by side, demonstrating what commitment truly looks like. Their home was built on faith, love, laughter, and perseverance.
He was a loving and devoted father to Shawn Marshall (Susan), Scott Marshall, and Shellie Marshall. His children were his pride and joy, and he poured his life into them — teaching them by example the value of hard work, integrity, and trusting God in all things. As “Poppy,” he found immeasurable joy in his grandchildren, Frank, Ashley, Megan, Cameron, Georgia, and Gabe. Nothing brought him more happiness than talking about their accomplishments and watching them grow. His great-grandchildren, Hunter Chenard and Riley Chenard, were an added blessing in his later years, filling his heart with pride and delight. His family truly were his crowning jewels, and he would have done anything to see them happy.
By trade, Frank worked as a Technical Writer for the Electrical Engineering Department of DND in Halifax. His precision, knowledge, and strong work ethic earned the respect of colleagues throughout his career. Though his role required careful attention to detail and technical expertise, he carried himself with humility and quiet excellence. Even outside of work, his practical skills and willingness to help made him someone others could always rely on.
He also believed in taking care of the body God gave him. A dedicated fitness enthusiast, Frank continued working out at the gym well into his 80s. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping a man regain mobility after a stroke. That act of patience and dedication reflected his compassionate heart — he didn’t just care about people spiritually, he cared about their whole well-being.
Growing up in central Newfoundland, Frank developed a love for the outdoors and became an avid big-game hunter in his younger years. He loved telling stories of his adventures, including the famous moose hunt that resulted in writing off his new car — a tale he told with humor and perfect timing. Around a campfire or in church skits, he had a way of captivating an audience. His storytelling, humor, and expressive nature brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.
Above all else, Frank’s greatest love was his Savior, Jesus Christ. His deepest desire was that every member of his family would come to know the Lord personally and walk faithfully with Him. He prayed for them, encouraged them, and lived in a way that pointed them toward eternity. He believed wholeheartedly in the promise of salvation and the assurance of heaven, and that hope sustained him throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his brothers Roy Marshall, Wilfred Marshall, Clifford Marshall, and Ronnie Marshall.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalind; his children and their families; his sister, Lorraine Murphy (Dave); his brother, Glen Marshall (Shirley); and his sister-in-law, Cathy Marshall, wife of the late Wilfred Marshall. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and his cherished church family who will miss him deeply.
Though his family’s hearts are heavy, they grieve with hope. They take comfort in knowing that Frank has finished his race and now stands in the presence of the Savior he loved so dearly. His legacy of faith, devotion, generosity, and steadfast love will continue to live on through the generations that follow him.
As Scripture reminds us:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rock Church, 222 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with refreshments and visiting to follow.
