

FRAUGHTON, Frederick Allan — 55, of Halifax, passed away after a long battle with a terrible illness. He will be deeply missed. Born to Margaret Fraughton (Stevenson) and the late Frederick Fraughton Sr., Fred was born and raised in central Halifax. A talented and respected carpenter, he worked on many homes and projects throughout the province. Always a sports fan, he spent plenty of time on the ice at the Forum in his youth, and still more time in the stands and enjoying games at home. He was equally passionate about music and loved to talk politics. Above all, Fred was a beloved son, nephew, brother, uncle, husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Cathy (Sim); daughter, Holly (Kevin); son, Ben. Also survived by aunt, Freda Stevenson; sister, Eileen (Fraughton) Pottie (Pat); brothers, Richard (Barbara), Hubbards and David (Carol); many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Fred Sr. and brother, James "Jimmy" (Anna). Visitation to be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. Family flowers only.
