

With heavy hearts, the family of Gail Judith Freeman, age 81, announces her peaceful passing on Monday, September 15, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Gail was surrounded by her loving family at the Northwood Long-Term Care Home, 3 Center, Halifax.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Gail was the only child of the late Edward and Marjorie Freeman.
A devoted and cherished mother, Gail leaves behind her children Dana E. Grant (Kevin) and Jacqueline A. Grant, She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Hannah E Desrochers (Derick). Gail will also be deeply missed by her cousins Marsha McCulloch, Roy Jr. Gaetz, Paul Gaetz, and Steven Gaetz.
In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her beloved first son Michael F Grant her grandparents, Percy and Grace Gaetz, Uncle Roy A. Gaetz, Aunts Evelyn Snetsinger and Eileen Gayner.
A woman of deep faith, Gail was a longtime member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, and regularly attended All Saints Anglican Church in Kingston, NS. where she gave generously of her time as a Sunday School teacher and choir member, Gail was a cherished part of the Kingston community; her kindness, faith and joyful spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed.
The family extends heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at Northwood 3 Center. Your care, kindness, and support meant the world to Gail, and she appreciated each and every one of you.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Annapolis Royal.
