

Born in Halifax, he was raised there as well as in Shelburne, Wolfville, and Newfoundland. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Acadia University, followed by a Civil Engineering degree from Nova Scotia Technical College (Dalhousie). He loved his chosen profession and greeted each day with zest. He worked with Montreal Engineering, L.E. Shaw Ltd, and the provincial and federal governments. He retired from the Dept. of National Defense in 1995.
He was a faithful member and elder of the Presbyterian Church of St. David’s. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking, was an interesting conversationalist, but above all he was a fervent reader.
George is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna MacLeod Miller, his precious daughter, Ainsley (Trent) Hilliard, sons, Eric, Dan and Steve and his sons’ mother, Katharine Mott. He was proud to be the grandfather of 7 and to recently become a great grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, George E. and Margaret (Paterson) Miller, son, Ken, and brother, James.
A memorial service will be held in the J A Snow Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday August 30 at 10:00 am conducted by Rev. K. Stright. Interment will be held at a later date in the family plot in Shelburne, NS. Those wishing to donate in George’s memory may do so to The Presbyterian Church of St. David P.O.
