

He was the loving husband of 61 years to wife, Sal, father of Marilyn Martinis (Tony) and Jim (Laurie), grandfather (“Pops”) of Evan and Jackson and brother of Georgene Kolb (Terry). Bob was predeceased by his parents, George Robert, Sr. and Donna Jean Tharp.
Born in West Branch, Michigan, November 30, 1941
Upon graduation from High School, Bob entered National Chiropractic College in Chicago, Illinois.
After his second year, he transferred to Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he graduated in 1964 with his D.C. degree.
Bob practiced in Michigan for twelve years while continuing to further his education in chiropractic orthopedics and x-ray diagnosis. He received his Diplomate in the Specialty of Chiropractic Orthopedics in 1973.
In 1977, he and his family, (Sal, Marilyn and Jim) moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia where Bob practiced for 39 years. During this time, he was a very active member of the profession. He was President of the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors for two terms, President of The Canadian Federation of Chiropractic Regulatory Boards and Nova Scotia’s Governor to the Canadian Chiropractic Association. While Governor, he spearheaded establishing a chiropractic licensing board for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Bob retired in 2016, after 51 years of dedicated care to his patients. He absolutely loved his work of helping people in pain. He wanted us to express his thank you to all of his patients for the privilege of caring for them over those 51 years.

Celebration of Life will be held February 22, at 2 p.m., follwed by a reception at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive.
