Helen "Marie" Barker (Bartlett)

It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Barker announces her passing on September 5, 2025 at home in Halifax. Born in Truro, she was the oldest daughter of the late Gordon and Gladys (Langille) Bartlett. Marie was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed time with family and friends and had many hobbies over the years, including bowling, sewing, cake decorating, knitting and painting. Marie never turned down a chance to travel and toured with friends and family to Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii. She was also involved in the craft club and games at the Wedgewood. Marie will be sadly missed by her sons, Ronald (Janet), Westphal; Timothy (Annette), Peace River, Al; Daughters Kathie (Mark) Glazebrook, Halifax, and Sherri (Bob) Hatheway, Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Megan (Tyler), Ian, Haley, Jonah, Zachary, Patrick, Katelyn, Jillian, Tori, Rachel, Robbie; Sister Bonita Bartlett; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Marie was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Ronald Keith Barker. The family would like to pass their warm thanks and appreciation to Anna, Jeslyn, and Theresa for their assistance in keeping Marie in her home and comfortable in her last days. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9 from 5-8 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Celebration of Life service to be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 10 am, with internment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the QEII Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
