

Kline, The Reverend Henry B. 92 of Halifax passed away on Wednesday, August 7 at Bradford Hall, Halifax. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Henry and Ethelreda (McNeil) Kline. Educated in Halifax he attended Holy Heart Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood on June 15, 1947 by Archbishop J. T. McNally. During his priesthood he served as assistant priest at Immaculate Conception, Truro and Saint Patrick, Halifax, and as Pastor of Saint Thomas More, Pugwash; Saint Peter, Sheet Harbour; Saint Bernard, Enfield; Saint Thomas More, Dartmouth; Saint Patrick, Halifax; Saint Catherine of Siena, Halifax before he retired on July 15, 1991. Following his retirement, he remained active in his ministry at St John the Baptist, Armdale and St Lawrence, Fairview. Father Kline served as Dean of the Dartmouth Deanery (‘68-‘74) and on several diocesan committees during his 66 years of priesthood. Father Henry was a true gentleman, a kind and compassionate priest who was greatly respected. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother Donald and infant brother Walter. Survived by his sister, Sister Ruth Kline, SC, Halifax and sister-in-law Emma Kline, 2 nephews and a niece all of Detroit Michigan. Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday August 11 in Saint Benedict Church, Radcliffe Dr, Halifax where vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Monday, August 12 in Saint Benedict Church, with Archbishop Anthony Mancini officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville.
