Irma Mae Graves

Graves, Irma Mae – age 77 of Bayside, NS, passed away Monday, November 14 at the QEII – VG. Born in Bayside, NS. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy (Zinck) Longard. Irma enjoyed every family gathering. She loved working with her many plants. She was very proud to say “I grew that from a cutting!” Her grandchildren and children were her pride and joy. She and her husband were proud foster parents of 30 children, 3 of those they adopted as their own. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Irma is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Graves.; daughters, Pamela Graves of Halifax, and Terri Graves of Dartmouth; sons, Dwight (Marilyn) of Bayside, John (Dawn) of Upper Sackville, Christopher (Ivana) of Vancouver and Geoffrey of Bayside; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her brother, Laurie Longard. Visitation will be held at J. A Snow Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 16 from 2-4 and 6-8pm, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax. Funeral Service will be held at Halifax Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2063 Parker Street, Halifax on Thurs, Nov 17 at 11am. Pastor Kevin Scott officiating. Burial in Sunrise Cemetery, Hatchet Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sandy Lake Academy, Bedford NS.
