

Jacqueline (Mickey) Clare Connelly, ninety years of age, of Halifax, Nova Scotia (formerly of Kentville) passed away in Halifax on the evening of July 29, 2024. Jacqueline was born in Halifax, on April 14, 1934 to Dorthy and John Clare. Jacqueline is survived by her husband John to whom she was married for close to fifty years, her children David (Rebecca) and Genevieve Terriss (Tim) and her grandchildren Michelle and Patrick.
Jacqueline began her career as a bacteriologist technician at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. She then travelled to Sarasota, Florida before returning to Camp Hill in Halifax.
John and Jacqueline first met in Kindergarten at LeMarchant Street School and eventually began to date in high school. After a period of a quarter of a century apart, their paths crossed once again and they were married on December 31, 1975. At this point, not only did she become a wife, but also a mother to Genevieve and David.
Jacqueline’s interests throughout her life were exceptionally varied. She flew small aircraft, travelled the world and organized book fairs to support scholarships. She was also a 25 year member of the Canadian Federation of University Women as well as a volunteer with the B.F.M. Hospital Auxiliary.
She was an integral part of all of our lives and will be deeply missed.
A private memorial service is planned for August 6.
