James Banford Chambers

Chambers, James, B-91, with sadness we announce the passing of James B. Chambers of Bedford, NS on December 5, 2025. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late George and Maisie Chambers. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna; daughters, Donna, Joanne (Robert) and Linda; grandsons, Billy (Kim), Jamie, David (Cassady), Bobby (Jody), Jeffrey and Matthew; five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debbie; brothers-in-law, David (Lynne) and Donnie. He was predeceased by his son, Jimmie; son-in-law, Walter; sister, Pauline and brother, Georgie.

Jimmie was an employee with the City of Halifax at the Fairview Cemetery until retirement. His passion for standardbred race horses brought him great joy all his life at the Halifax Commons, Exhibition Raceway, Sackville Downs and Truro Raceway watching races right up to his final days.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Rev. David Hann and Rev. Jessie Crabtree as well as the Psychiatric Geriatric Department of the QE II, Dr. Cheryl Murphy and Erica MacInnis.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday December 10, 2025 at 10am in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. There will be a reception and burial to follow at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, everyone welcome.
