James "Jamie" Bruce Butler

Jamie died suddenly and peacefully at home on Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was predeceased by his father, James Ross and his uncle, Denis A. Butler. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Butler, brother, Marc Butler (Joanna) niece, Abbie, nephew, Calvin, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special stepson, Andy.

He was a graduate of Halifax West High School and the Halifax Community College. In his younger days he excelled in sports, playing competitive soccer, hockey, volleyball, and in every school sport. In the past few years he had taken up acting and worked his way up to a few major roles.

He loved music and was an excellent guitar player and songwriter. He was well known for playing with his cousin Glenn at many family gatherings and kitchen parties. Recently he played with Sarah H. and he has been in many bands over the years.

He was kind, gentle and a good and loyal friend - always ready to help others, young and old. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will take place in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, 902-455-0531 on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 10- 11 am with a Celebration of his life following at 11:00 am in the J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel.
