
Of Halifax, passed away November 18, 2018, Born in Stevenson, Ayrshire, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Craig and Samuel Marshall. Along with her family, Jean immigrated to Canada at the age of 3 aboard the HMS Scythia, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax. Jean graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School where she met her beloved husband, Douglas.
She and Doug loved sports and in the summer they could be found at the Waegwoltic Club, on the golf course, or at their Cottage on Mill Lake, Hubbards. In the winter, Jean curled during the day with the Day Ladies Club for which she served as president and in the evenings and weekends with Doug.
Following Doug’s death, she spent her time hanging out with her best friends Jean, Florence, and Doris, playing bridge or at the Waegwoltic Club.
Jean is survived by her son, Warren (Christine Mosher), her daughter; Heather MacKeeman, grandson Mathew Mackeeman (Kim Douglas), granddaughter Sara (Guy Thompson) and three great grandsons, Douglas, Michael , and Henry. Jean was predeceased by her husband Doug, brother Samuel (Scottie) Marshall, and sisters Sarah Conner, Violet Chaddock, Elizabeth (Elsie) Robinson, Margaret (Peggy) Allan, and Isobel, in infancy. Cremation has taken place. No funeral services, by request. There will be a private family service and an inurnment at a later date.
