Jane "Jennie" Makepeace Barrett

Barrett, Jane “Jennie” - of White Hills Long Term Care Facility in Hammonds Plains, passed away on June 28, 2017 at the age of 98. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Before losing her sight she enjoyed knitting, reading and crafts. She was a long term member and supporter of All Saints Anglican Church in Bedford and the ACW. She was born in England at the end of the First World War She married and had 3 children during the Second World War and moved to Canada in the 60s, living a very caring, eventful and fulfilled life.

She is survived by her son, Peter (Brenda) of Rothbury, England, daughter, Ann (Ken Calvert) of Gravenhurst, Ontario, and daughter, Gloria (Billy Hall) of Hammonds Plains.

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Kim Brealey (Martin), Adrian Barrett (Silke), Michelle Calvert (Peter), Nicole McKeag (David), Tiffanie Hubbard (Christopher), Christian Hall (Rachel), Mark Hall (Kathryn), and 12 great grandchildren, Austin, Christian, Jasmin, Isobel, Lucas, Luke, Eve, Devon, Maren, Cameron, Isabella, and Stephen.

She was predeceased by her husband Peter.

Her remains have been cremated. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 4, 2017, at All Saints Anglican Church, 1408 Bedford Highway, Bedford, NS, at 11 am, followed by a reception.
