Joan Marie Morrison

The family of Joan Marie Morrison (Jamael), of Halifax, wish to announce her passing on October 12, 2023. Mom was born in Sydney on November 26, 1932 to the late John and Dolena (Miles)Jamael. She was predeceased by her husband Dinny (Dr. E S Morrison), youngest son E Stephen(Dinny), sisters Rita Jamael, Carol Savage (Tom), and Mabel Daisomont (Bob). Mom is survived by her children: John (Colleen Marshall); Archie (Cindy); Rita and Kelly, her grandchildren: Trish Brady (James); Paula MacPherson (Daryl); Jennie Morrison(Brad Berry); Alexandre; Emma Kehoe (Jimmy); Teresa Burns (Tyler); Matthew, Daniel(Orane); and 15 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Bob Daisomont; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom lived most of her married life in Halifax where she raised her family and was very involved with her church. She enjoyed family dinners and many gatherings over the years. She was an avid duplicate bridge player, until recently. She also shared a passion for hockey and golf with Dad, although one was a Habs fan and the other a Bruins fan. Visitation will be at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax, from 6-8pm on October 23. Funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Church 6903 Mumford Rd. Halifax, from 10-11 on October 24. Reception to follow in the church hall. The family would like to thank the staff at Melville Heights for their care and compassion for mom these last couple of years.
