I just learned of Joanie's passing while reading through the latest Dal Alumni magazine. I have many wonderful memories of 'Joanie' as she seemed to always be called back in the '60s, Football games and other student activities, Phi Kap parties with Peter and the years we were near neighbours in Ottawa as Peter did his Army Dental Corps service.  Then years later, with little notice and out of the blue Joanie showed a welcome hand to my son during his short stay at Dalhousie. 
She is an angel now among the angels.

I met your mother at Ready to Rumba. When I first started classes there, she showed me the ropes - literally and figuratively. What I remember most, however, was her participating in every class, her boundless energy and sense of humour putting the rest of us to shame. Please accept our condolences.

Joan and I were classmates many years ago at the Halifax Ladies College, or 'HLC' as it was known, on Oxford Street. My condolences to her family. I remember her as a very sweet person.

We are saddened to hear that Joan had passed.  While we lived in Nova Scotia we attended Ready to Rumba with Joan. Joan was full of life, always happy and greeted us every time with a beautiful smile when we walked in.  She will be missed and remain in our hearts.

Joan was a vivacious person who made friends everywhere she went. I am grateful to have had her as a friend and co-roadrunner this past year. Joan loved live theatre, attending plays at Neptune and TAG Pond Playhouse and Spatz Theatre. She had a love for painting and enjoyed paint nights at The Muse, Dalhousie's alumni cafe, where she produced charming paintings. Joan was interested in lifelong learning, attending lectures on a variety of topics from speakers such as Romeo Dallaire and representatives of the Halifax Astronomical Society. Joan was a fantastic cook, she got a huge kick out of attending cooking classes with Chef Scott on Tuesday nights, she always had a tip to share with the class.

Joan had a brilliant sense of humour and a wonderful sense of adventure. She will be missed. I miss her.

I will never forget your wonderful playful spirit,  your sense of humour,  your contagious energy,  and what an inspiration you were to so many of us who always looked up to you.
