It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jodie Nordin, 51, on October 6, 2025 — a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Born to Lois Nordin and the late Lloyd Williams, Jodie filled the lives of those around her with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Jodie is survived by her beloved mother, Lois Nordin, and her three cherished children: Chelsea (Donald), Jayden, and Courtney. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren — Mahkiya, Donald, Jayden, Juwan, and Jabari — who brought endless joy to her life. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Jason; her niece Jaiah (Derico) and great-niece and nephews Trell, Paris, and True; her favorite aunt Norine (Will) and aunt Cynthia (Gil); and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, including Susan, Alicia, and Jillian, who supported her throughout her life. A special place in her heart was held for her best friend Trina, whose unwavering friendship brought countless moments of laughter and joy.
Jodie lived her life with a vibrant and adventurous spirit. She loved to travel, and one of her fondest memories was taking a solo vacation — a bold step that reflected her independence and zest for life. She delighted in shopping trips, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and, above all, spending time with those she loved.
As a talented hairstylist, Jodie brought beauty, laughter, and warmth to many. Her quick wit, intelligence, and compassion created lasting connections with clients and friends alike. She possessed remarkable strength and resilience, facing challenges with courage and grace, and teaching her children the values of perseverance and positivity.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Giacomantonio, Dr. Jay Kumar, Dr. Enright, Cindy Bell, and the palliative care team for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Jodie’s illness. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort to Jodie and her loved ones during her final journey.
Though her time with us was far too short, Jodie’s legacy of love, humor, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind not only memories but also an enduring reminder to embrace life fully and treasure every moment.
A Celebration of Life will be held at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS, on Wednesday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., where family and friends are welcome to come together to honor Jodie and share stories in her memory.
Rest in peace, Jodie. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
