

ANDERSON, John James – 94 of Halifax passed away December 18,2010 at Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Jessie and John Anderson. He loved the cottage in Porter’s Lake as well as hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling around the country. John was happiest when surrounded by his family. He worked for 39 years at the Dockyard as a machinist until his retirement. He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Phil) Gordon, Beverly (Myles) Boutilier and Deborah (Randy) Fitzgerald; son, John (Thelma); 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Doreen (Parsons); sisters, Muriel Reid, Gladys Merideth and Anne Burnett. Visitation will take place Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, from where a funeral service will take place Wednesday, December 22 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
