

Mason, Joyce Irene (Snow) – 73 of Halifax passed away peacefully in the QEII Hospital on May 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was a daughter of the late Arnold and Violet Snow. Joyce was always an active member of her community. She belonged to Atlantic Memorial Home and School Association, and held many positions for Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxilary; treasurer for 5 years, President for 6 years, and Sports Chairman for several years. She was the first Ladies Auxilary Dart Manager and helped to organize the Ladies Dart League. She worked and volunteered for Canadian Diabetes Association, mostly for the supply centre. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren immensely. They gave her a strong will to continue to enjoy life and wanted to live. Her children were a great pride to her, her daughter (Denise) was there for her in everything she wanted or needed. She felt very blessed. Joyce was a loving wife of 53 years to William (Bill), mother, grandmother, sister, as well as sister-in-law and mother-in-law. She will be greatly missed by sons Derek (Kathy) White’s Lake, Jeff (Hilda) Halifax; daughter Denise (Al Nauss) Halifax; grandchildren Candace (James MacBurnie), Bryan, Deanne and William Mason, Amanda, Madison, and Megan Nauss; sisters Yvonne Foote, Halifax, Dorothy Francis, Halifax, Judith (Edward Inglis), Halifax; sister-in-law Brenda Snow, Halifax; brothers Farell (Marion) Snow, Dennis Snow, Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill”; daughter Deborah Marie in infancy; sisters Caroline and Carmen; brother Myron. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30th from 6-8 PM in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, 902-455-0531. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 31st at 10:30 am in Saint Benedict Catholic Church, 45 Radcliffe Drive. Burial to follow at Camphill Cemetery.
