Beloved daughter, sister, friend. Age 65, Kathy’s earthly journey ended on August 16th in a room filled with the love of family and friends. Kathy was a true Haligonian, born and raised here. She attended St. Pat’s High and went on to a successful career in the life insurance business, where she formed many wonderful and lasting friendships.
Above all, Kathy’s love for her family is legendary. When she retired, Kathy, who never married, said she would, now, become a mother for the first time, which she did. She cared for Mom and Dad, anticipating every need and desire as only a mother could, making it possible for them to enjoy many more happy years at home. This is the same love she bestowed on all of her family and friends, acknowledging every birthday, anniversary, and special event in our lives with cards hand-picked and tailored to each individual. Her’s is the love that sustains us at this sad time.
Kathy will always be remembered and celebrated by her parents, Clifford and Kathleen (MacDonald) Mombourquette; sisters, Linda (Bern) Davies; Bonnie (Jim, deceased) Duggan and Denise (David) Martell and the many nieces and nephews who were proud to call her “Aunt Kathy”. She will also be lovingly remembered by her two BFFs, Mary Judge and Daisy Veinot. Kathy’s only brother, Cliff, ended his journey just one year ago.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Monday, August 22nd, at 11AM.
You did good, Kath.
