Born in Sydney, NS and moving to Halifax in 1968, he was very proud to be a Cape Bretoner and maintained close relationships with many aunts, uncles and our many cousins over the years, especially through the magic of Facebook. Les was a kind and caring person, he would help anyone do anything. An active volunteer in the community, you might have met Les campaigning for politicians he believed in, or at open houses and town halls. Les seemed to know everyone, a regular at the Tim’s on Lacewood, he could talk to anyone about politics, life, and the world. Les was always learning, always interested, always helping, and always kind.
Les was a graduate of Halifax West High School and St. Mary’s University. Visitation will take place from 2pm – 4pm, Wednesday, February 22nd at Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. The funeral will take place at 10:30 am, Thursday, February 23rd at Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Drive, and reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Feed Nova Scotia.
