Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Kathleen Rudolph (Streeter) and Martin Rudolph.
Lily was a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Scotia Branch #25, where she served as Sergeant at arms from 1966-71. She was an avid dart player, and loved to go dancing on Friday nights at her branch until its closing in 2003. In her later years, during the summer, her favorite times were spent out on the deck with a good book and her best buddy “Bear” close by her side. An animal lover all of her life, she always had a treat at the ready for any furry friend that happened to stop by. She enjoyed tending to her small rose garden and chatting with her neighbours.
Lily is survived by her daughter, Sandra Sparrow (Greg), Lower Sackville; son, Dennis Walsh (Alice), Lower Sackville; sister, Lila Comeau, Lower Sackville; granddaughters, Christine Walsh, Darcy Walsh, and Amanda Sparrow; great grandson, Phoenix Sparrow, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Hiltz, along with a longtime companion, Paul Meldrum, and brother, Neil (Sonny) Paulsen, Wainwright, AB.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 7, at 10:00 am in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531). Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
