

FARMER, (Walker), Linda Marie – 51 of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the Infirmary site of the QEII on August 30, 2012 during her short battle with breast cancer. Born in Sydney on May 31, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Ted and Isabel (MacDougall) Walker. Linda was educated at Halifax attending Saint Patrick’s High School and worked at various positions throughout Halifax with the most rewarding being a school bus monitor with Stock Transportation assisting mentally and physically challenged children. She is survived by her loving partner, John Leydon, who will miss her very much! She will also be missed by her loving children Manus (Cindy), Vanessa (Paul), and her wonderful son Keshaun at home, as well as her five loving grandchildren, Kierra, Ty-Gregory, Gabriel, Bella and Brayden and former husband Manus, Sr., all of Halifax; sisters Claire (Luc) Rollin, Hammonds Plains, Judy (Calvin) Young, Grand Lake, sister-in-law Gail of Dartmouth; nieces and nephews, Douglas, Nadine Young; Bill, Vincent Tucker and a special aunt Sister Stella MacDougall, CND, Sydney. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her sister Marie, brother, Douglas and niece Tanya. Cremation to take place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Brunswick Street, Halifax on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00 am with Father LaPorte officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an education trust fund established for Keshaun Farmer at any branch of Scotiabank.
