It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Darlene Mary Frausell, age 62, on November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Linda's strength, kindness, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda was born on June 23, 1962, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and grew up in West Dover, the daughter of the late Francis and Estella (Morash) Forrest. She was a beloved wife to Kevin Frausell and a proud mother to her son, Josh Frausell (Gwen). Linda also leaves behind her sister, Delores Forrest (Manfred), and her cherished niece, Melissa Mullins (Mike), along with great-niece Hannah. She was dearly loved by her special cousins, Alice, Lee, Glen, and Murray (Brian), and her friends since Jr High Andrew, Denise, David (Elizabeth), her special friend and shopping buddy, Gail and countless other relatives and friends.
Linda's 38-year career at TD Bank was a testament to her dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to excellence. For 35 of those years, she worked at the Barrington Street branch, where she built deep, lasting relationships with both colleagues and customers. Linda's exceptional work ethic and passion for customer service earned her the TD Legends Award year after year, a distinction given to those who exemplify the highest standards of service and leadership, Linda was truly the best of the best.
As Customer Experience Manager, Linda was not only a leader but a mentor to many, known for her ability to inspire her team while creating an environment where every customer felt valued. Her colleagues often said she "bled TD Green," reflecting both her loyalty to the company and her pride in the work she did. Linda truly built a legacy at TD that will be felt for many years to come.
Linda’s interests extended far beyond her professional life. Growing up in West Dover, she developed a strong connection to the ocean. Throughout her life she often took time to enjoy boat rides with her cousins, enjoying the stunning view of Peggy’s Cove from the water.
Gardening was a passion Linda cherished, and her beautiful flowers flourished as a testament to her care. She was so proud of her enormous hibiscus blooms each year and would post her annual hibiscus selfie. Linda was always ready to lend a hand to friends who needed help with their gardens, and she loved the process of creating beautiful spaces.
Another of Linda’s passions was shopping, collecting, and selling unique treasures. Over the years, she became an expert in discovering hidden gems, spending weekends at the Funky Flea Market where she built meaningful connections with everyone who came to her table.
Linda’s love of music was also a defining part of her personality. Whether it was going to concerts or dancing on stage with Alan Jackson (whether he wanted her to or not), she embraced life with joy and energy. She was a fan of Pink and was always quick to request her songs when asked what she wanted to listen to. Some of her favourite concerts were Elton John, Rod Stewart, Pink, Cher, and most recently Miranda Lambert.
Travel was one of Linda’s greatest joys, and over the years, she and her family explored many memorable destinations, including Texas, Florida, California, Arizona, Nevada, New York, Toronto, Georgia, North Carolina, and New England. But it was their most recent trip to Zion Valley and the Sedona Rocks that truly captured Linda’s heart. At first, she couldn’t understand why Josh had chosen these destinations, but once she witnessed the stunning natural beauty of the landscapes, she was absolutely captivated. Linda couldn’t stop sharing her awe and excitement about the places she had visited, telling everyone she met about the breathtaking views and incredible memories she made with her family.
Linda was deeply committed to her community, dedicating much of her time as a volunteer team manager for Josh’s baseball and hockey teams. She built strong, lasting connections with Josh’s friends, teammates, and their families, always offering a warm smile and a helping hand. To many of Josh’s close friends she was like a second mother, always there with guidance, support, and encouragement. Her compassion extended well beyond the rink or the ball field; it was woven into every aspect of her life. Linda’s generosity and genuine care for others made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Those who knew Linda will remember her for her kind, thoughtful, and generous nature. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people and make them feel valued.
At home, Linda was known for her nurturing spirit, strong presence, and remarkable ability to manage both work and family life with grace and strength. She was someone everyone could count on, and her thoughtfulness and sense of humor made her a joy to be around.
Linda faced the challenges of pancreatic cancer with the same courage, determination, and strength that characterized her life. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff on the VG Palliative Care team, whose care and compassion went above and beyond. A special thank you to Dr. Nadine Hewitt for her unwavering support and encouragement.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Linda’s honor on Sunday, December 8th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 6867 Prospect Rd, West Dover, NS. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Linda’s memory to Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society (www.craigscause.ca).
Linda’s legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her love, strength, and joy for life will be missed, but never forgotten.
