Linda Diane Ross (Wambolt), age 72, of Bramber, NS, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026 at the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor, Nova Scotia with her sons, Daniel and Richie Poirier by her side.
Linda was born on July 6, 1953 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Harris Richard Wambolt and Shirley Jean Wambolt (Hartlen). She was raised in Halifax, but spent many years living in Mahone Bay, and the last 21 years of her life living with her beloved husband, Wade Owen Ross in Bramber, Nova Scotia. Wade was a wonderful partner throughout their life together, supporting her endlessly throughout her last few years — a sign of their unwavering, devoted love for one another. Linda was known for her great cooking that made every occasion special, as well as her great hospitality that brought everyone together, creating so many wonderful memories that we will always cherish.
Early in her career, she worked as a PCW at the Beaverbank Villa Nursing Home, now known as Northwood Ivy Meadows. She also worked in many Indian restaurants, as well as her second hand store on Gottigen Street in Halifax. Outside of her career, Linda found joy in camping, gardening, swimming, but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her other half, Wade Ross; her son Richie (Shelley); son Daniel (Estre); step-daughter Leslie Anne Murdoch and family; grandchildren Maryssa, Kelsie, Makenzy, Quartaya, Matteo, Christian, Deven, and Hailey; and great-grandson Lennox. She is also survived by her sisters Earthela, Shelly, and Tina, nieces/nephews, and close friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Shirley Jean Wambolt; grandson Drew Poirier and grand daughter Maya Poirier.
Cremation services will take place but no visitation. Instead, a celebration of life will be held in the summer as per her request.
The family would like to give thanks to the Hants Community Hospital for the care and respect they showed Linda during her stay.
Linda’s warmth, laughter, and steadfast love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
