“A star’s brilliance is not measured by how long it shines, but by how brightly it burns.”
Lisa Marie Dickson, 44, passed away on Sept, 22nd 2025, peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Her time with us was far too short, yet she shone with extraordinary brightness, filling every moment with love, purpose, and determination.
Lisa was the beloved wife of 20 years to her best friend and soulmate, Mike. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with laughter, respect, and unwavering devotion. She was also the proud and adoring mother of Nate, age 9, who was the very heart of her world. Being his mom was her greatest joy and her proudest achievement. Every step of her life was shaped by her love for Nate, and her bond with him and Mike was the cornerstone of her happiness.
A dedicated and gifted surgeon, Lisa fulfilled her lifelong calling to heal and serve others. She approached her profession with the same determination and compassion that defined every part of her life. Patients and colleagues alike admired her not only for her skill but for the kindness and humanity she brought into every interaction.
If you asked Lisa, she might have said she didn’t have many friends. That’s because Lisa didn’t make friends—she made family. When she let you into her life, she gave all of herself: selfless, devoted, and full of love. She had a rare gift for forming bonds that went far beyond casual friendship, and those fortunate enough to be embraced by her heart know the depth of that connection. Humble and beautiful in spirit, Lisa made every person she met feel valued, cherished, and truly seen.
Lisa faced every challenge in life with courage and determination. She set an example for all who knew her, showing that strength is found not in avoiding hardship but in meeting it head-on with grace, perseverance, and love. She was able to do this because of the unwavering support of her “team”—the family, friends, and colleagues who stood beside her every step of the way. Their love gave her the space to keep showing the world what a true superwoman looks like.
In lieu of flowers, Lisa’s family asks that you honor her memory by stepping into nature and taking a moment to “just listen.” Listen to the wind in the trees, the birdsong, or the quiet around you, and in that stillness remember the love, joy, and presence that Lisa brought into the world.
She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a loyal friend, an extraordinary surgeon, and a woman whose love, strength, and determination inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her.
