Louis Chronis

Passed away peacefully on March 2, 2018, at Victoria General Hospital. Born Oct 1, 1926, in Milos, Greece, he was the son of the late Vassili and Maria (Vihos) Chronis and husband of Calliope (Vamvounis) Chronis.

Louie was the part owner of Markadonis Shoe Repair in Glace Bay for a large part of his working career. He loved travelling to his homeland of Greece each summer with his family. He treasured his time with his two grandchildren. Louie enjoyed shopping, especially when he found a good bargain. He had a tremendous sense of humor and always had a good joke to tell.

Survived by his loving wife, Calliope, of Halifax; daughter, Maria Dikaios (Jim) of Halifax; grandchildren, Katerina and Kalliope; sister, Margarita Kyritsis; as well as nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Katerina Markios and Ifigenia Rakkas; and brother, Themistokles Chronis.

Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., on Sunday, March 4 from 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, 36 Purcells Cove Rd., on Monday, March 5th at 2 PM. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St George's Greek Orthodox Church.
