

EHLER, Louisa Pearl (Riggs) – It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Louisa Pearl (Riggs) Ehler, 74, of Upper Lakeville N.S. on June 20, 2011 at Maplestone Enhanced Care. Born in Burin Bay Arm, NFLD, she was the daughter of the late William and Nora Riggs.Louisa worked for Cunard Steamship Lines and Dallard’s Clothing for a number of years.
Louisa and Lowell celebrated their 53rd Anniversary on June 14th. She is survived by her husband Lowell; daughter Kimberlea, Rothsay, N.B., son Mark, Halifax; sisters Jenny Whynott, Louisbourg, C.B., and Janet Larter, PE; 3 grandchildren: Ryley, Brandon and Daniel Greene; great-grandson Lucas Greene; and several nieces and nephews. Louisa “CiCi” will be sadly missed by niece Nora Pitcher. In addition to her parents, Louisa was also predeceased by her brother Al Riggs.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531, on June 24th from 10-11 a.m., with service to follow in the chapel at 11a.m., Rev. Carson J. Baxter officiating. Interment will take place in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Upper Lakeville, N.S. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
